Some negative rumors pushed musical artist SZA to clarify on Twitter that she and Taylor Swift do not have any issues between them. Both stars released albums in 2022, and both of those albums are doing really well by the numbers. For some reason, SZA thinks her fans are extrapolating her charts rivalry with Swift into a real life beef.
“Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that,” she tweeted on january 5. “I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing!”
SZA added, “Everyone’s jus tryna do their BEST as we all should. LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn.”

The tweet was part of a thread in which she encouraged her fans to keep streaming her songs, writing, “There’s 1 minute left in the tracking week thank you for STREAMING SOS And copping digitalis.”
While SZA may have wanted to see her album SOS at the top of the charts, that’s clearly just part of the business and not a personal vendetta against anyone else. On January 2, SZA’s album officially took No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the third week in a row. Swift’s October 2022 release Midnights followed closely at No. 2.
“I jus wanna say the way y’all been riding for me and genuinely wanna see me win / get my first number one means SO much,” SZA said in late December. “Community is everything and I couldn’t do any of this w out YALL THANK YOU I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU-”
The artist’s first album Ctrl was released in 2017, so her fans have been anticipating her follow-up for a long time. Swift has released quite a few albums over the last three years, and is about to start her national tour. They’re both set up to do well this year with their new work and there’s obviously room for everyone.
