Freddie Prinze Jr. Reveals The Secret To His Long Relationship With Sarah Michelle Gellar (Exclusive)
Freddie Prinze Jr. is revealing a secret that would make even the silver moon sparkle with shock.
While chatting about his upcoming movie The Girl in the Pool—which is now in theaters and on VOD—Freddie spilled some tea from the making of 1999’s She’s All That: namely, that he was not the legs behind the infamous hacky sack scene. And honestly, he doesn’t even remember it that well.
“I haven’t seen the movie,” Freddie exclusively told E! News‘ Paul Costabile. “I sort of remember this. I remember Alexis Arquette was super funny and super weird.”
But as for who was actually doing the hacky sack moves? Turns out the movie had hired a ringer.
“The guy that did the hacky sack was like, 6-foot-4,” Freddie revealed. “If you watch the movie again, the first three hits are me, and then I grow from 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-4, 6-foot-5. That guy was a champion.”
As the 48-year-old joked, “I’m a fraud.”
Fraud or not, he is well aware of how much fans still love She’s All That, so much so that he recently enjoyed a reunion with costar Rachael Leigh Cook at the July premiere of The Girl in the Pool.
The two were also joined by Kevin Pollak—who played Rachael’s dad in the movie, and costars with Freddie in his new film—as well as Freddie’s wife of 21 years, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who actually had a small cameo in She’s All That.
But that was hardly the first time the onscreen couple have reunited over the years, as Rachael also surprised Freddie at a screening of his flick Christmas With You in 2022.

“What a great night, so happy for you, my friend!” she shared on Instagram alongside a photo of the two at the time. “Headline: Check anyone who doesn’t love @realfreddieprinze in #christmaswithyou for a pulse. SO GOOD. Congratulations to the whole team, you smashed it.”
