Blunt received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Kitty in the film Oppenheimer. The movie and its cast was nominated for a slew of Critics Choice Awards, including Best Picture, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), and Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.).

Oppenheimer was also nominated for several Golden Globe Awards at last week’s ceremony, taking home Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director, Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture (Robert Downey Jr.), and Best Original Score (Ludwig Göransson).

Blunt was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture, however, the award went to Da’Vine Joy Randolph in The Holdovers. For the night’s festivities, Blunt wore a stunning gold embroidered gown from Alexander McQueen with a sheer tulle skirt. She accessorized with Tiffany and Co. jewels.

Krasinski was at her side in a red suit jacket with maroon pants featuring matching red pinstripes down the sides.

In an interview with The New York Times published on New Year’s day, Blunt revealed that she doesn’t care if her character in Oppenheimer is “likable.”

“For me, it’s never important if someone is likable. I just have to understand them,” the actress explained. “I could play the quiet desperation of the character, the restlessness and the unashamed flair that she had, which was so very fiery and exciting. And yet she was this very stabilizing force for him. She was his most vigorous protector. I think she had rather extraordinary qualities, as well as ones that really let her down as a person. She is abrasive and flawed, but I really sympathized with that idea of someone deteriorating at the ironing board, when she should have been made for intellectual endeavors that would have thrilled her.”
