Someone buy Tom Hiddleston a new watch. In the latest season of Loki, the actor—as the eponymous God of Mischief and Thor’s hate-to-love adopted brother—can’t seem to keep himself in one timeline. After the fallout of Loki season 1’s time-splitting finale, Loki’s suddenly prone to time slipping, jumping across branching timelines in sudden, spastic bouts. But that’s hardly his only problem as the second season of the hit Disney+ series rolls out its six episodes—he’s also got an alternate version of himself to deal with.

As Loki-variant Sylvie, actress Sophia Di Martino presents a physical and emotional predicament for Hiddleston’s Loki. As Di Martino told ELLE.com ahead of season 2, “I think she definitely cares about Loki; it’s the closest she has ever been to loving another being. The fact that he cares about her, too, is probably wildly uncomfortable for her. She’s never been close to another person her whole life…Obviously, she’s a variant of him, too, so I see it is about a sort of self-acceptance and self-love. Unfortunately, it’s happening at the same time she’s having to make a huge decision to fight for free will.”

Relationship status: It’s Complicated. To watch how the disparate timelines (and feelings) collide, here’s when and how to tune in.
